Know your certification requirements
Commercial drone operations are regulated. Here's what you need to fly legally and earn on Vantagr.
Transport Canada
Canada
Canada is Vantagr's primary market. Most of our highest-paying missions are in Canada.
Basic RPAS Operations Certificate
Required for operations within 30m of bystanders in uncontrolled airspace. Minimum requirement to register on Vantagr for most missions.
Advanced RPAS Operations Certificate
Required for controlled airspace, BVLOS, and operations over populated areas. Unlocks significantly more mission types on Vantagr.
SFOC (Special Flight Operations Certificate)
Required for certain specialized operations (film, emergency response). Issued by Transport Canada per-operation.
Federal Aviation Administration
United States
FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
Required for all commercial UAS operations in the US. Written knowledge test, valid for 24 months with a recurrent knowledge test.
LAANC / DroneZone Authorizations
Required for operations in controlled airspace. Most are auto-approved via LAANC within seconds using a compatible app.
International
EASA, CASA, CAA & others
Vantagr operates in 62 countries. Each jurisdiction has its own certification framework. Check your national civil aviation authority for current requirements.
EASA (Europe)
A2 C2 certificate for most commercial operations; Specific Category for complex operations.
Australia (CASA)
RePL (Remote Pilot Licence) for commercial operations over 2kg.
UK (CAA)
General Visual Line of Sight Certificate (GVC) for most commercial operations.
Coverage
Insurance requirements
Minimum $1,000,000 per-occurrence liability insurance
Some clients require $2,000,000 or more β specify your coverage in your profile
Hull insurance (drone physical damage) recommended but not required
Staying current

Notify Vantagr immediately if your certificate status changes
